Sophie Poost writes on 6/21/2019 at 12:22PM:
On 6/19, ADAPT members stopped by Beyer's office. They knew that at the action in May the group had gotten Beyer to agree to vote yes if the bill comes to the floor, however they were hoping to change that to a cosponsorship. Applicable staff was not available and the chief of staff said they were still "running it through the process".

Ellen Taverna along with a group from the Autism Society of America Hill Day met with Kate Schisler on 7/12. We thanked her for Beyer's support of the disability community and being a member of the Autism Caucus. I brought up the DIA and she mentioned having concerns about implementation in VA. She didn't elaborate but wanted to follow up with me after the meeting. She said that it seemed like something Beyer would support but needed some clarification on the bill. I told her I would follow up soon.
