On April 10, S. Woodward, S. Poost, and K. Carroll spoke with Margaret McInnis. She was interested in the timeline and the history of the bill. She said she had meetings with other groups who were also asking for the bill. She said she would run it up the chain so it may take a little longer but that she felt the Representative would want to rejoin the cosponsor list.

On April 8, S. Poost, K. Carroll, and L. Halvorson stopped by the office and asked to meet with a staffer about getting on as a cosponsor again. The staffer, Margaret McInnis, was not available, but the front desk staffer told us they had spoken with another group just 20 minutes earlier. S.Poost followed up with an email to Margaret McInnis.

Sophie Poost sent the following email to Jenny Perrino and received no response:

Dear Jenny,
I am writing on behalf of the Disability Community to thank Representative Kaptur for their sponsorship of the Disability Integration Act in the last Congress. We will be holding an event in the U.S. Capitol on January 15th to celebrate the bill???s reintroduction. We would like to announce the Representative as an original cosponsor of the bill at the event. Would you please confirm the Representative???s intention to be an original cosponsor on the legislation? We would be grateful for their leadership in helping ensure that all disabled Americans have the right to live in freedom. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sophie Poost
