From Sheryl Grossman, 7/27/18
Met with Maria Costigan, Leg Asst. Maria apologized saying this is an oversight and she is inquiring about signing on during a pro-forma session. She said she sent up the paperwork for MFP and DIA at the same time and the MFP one went through, but she has not heard back yet about DIA and she will follow up on this immediately. We should follow up on this just to make sure.

Subject: Cosponsorship of the Disability Integration Act (HR.2772)

Congressman Courtney was a cosponsor of the Disability Integration Act during the 114th Congress, but he has not yet signed on as a DIA cosponsor during the 115th (HR.5689). The bills are virtually identical. Only very minor changes were made to address some drafting issues which has resulted in even more broad-based support for the bill. Attached is an information packet explaining DIA. If the Congressman has some concern preventing him from continuing to support this critically important civil rights legislation that protects the Constitutional rights to Life and Liberty for Disabled Americans, we would like to discuss that. Thank you.
