On May 14th, Joel Richard responded to E.Jones' email:

Thanks for following up Ericka, I appreciate that you???ve been waiting for an answer from us. It???s on our staff meeting agenda for today (been trying to get time with him on it for a while). Will get you an answer as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience.

On May 15th, E. Jones followed up to inquire about the meeting and Joel responded: "Meeting was pushed to today."

Hi Joel,

In January, we emailed and left information for you about H.R. 555 and emailed to follow up about the bill. On February 13th, I sent another email to follow up. I received a response that your office was still reviewing the bill. In April, a group of us met with you to discuss the bill and ask why the representative was not a cosponsor yet. You said that you needed to discuss with Representative Deutch. On May 7th, I emailed again to ask that Representative Deutch cosponsor the Disability Integration Act. Today I called your office and left you a voicemail.

ADAPT will be in town next week and we would prefer to stop by your office to thank Representative Deutch for his support. It is critical that your office review the emails from ADAPT about the Disability Integration Act and get back to us about Representative Deutch cosponsoring DIA before we arrive.

On May 14th, E. Jones called Deutch's D.C. office and spoke to Brett Tomes (intern) and asked to speak with Joel Richard. He was not available so Brett transferred her to his voicemail. She left the message that she would follow up via email and he could either call or email to confirm that he has received our correspondence.

On May 7th, E. Jones emailed Joel Richard to ask why Representative Deutch was not a cosponsor after meeting and emailing since January.

On April 10, E. Jones, G. Beratan, J. Dollhopf and J. Disch met with Joel Richard who claimed that the office was "still reviewing the bill". Ms. Jones will follow up.

On January 14th E. Jones visited this office. On January 23rd, E. Jones emailed to follow up about previous asks for cosponsorship. On February 13th, E. Jones sent another email to Joel.richard@mail.house.gov and received the following response:

"Thank you Ericka, we will review the bill for the congressman???s consideration."

On November 29th, sent an email to Joshua Lipman (joshua.lipman@mail.house.gov) asking why the representative is not a cosponsor of DIA and whether the representative would commit to being an initial co-sponsor of DIA

ADAPT met with staff assistant, Demitri Dawson on May 16th. They discussed the importance of Congressman Deutch's co-sponsoring DIA. Demitri Dawson stated if the congressman is interested they would contact Amy Bos. Follow up with Demitri Dawson by emailing demitri.dawson@mail.house.gov

On April 13, 2016 ADAPT members - as part of the Spring Action Hill Day - provided the office with information about the Disability Integration Act which has already been introduced in the US Senate and asked that the Member of Congress become initial cosponsor this legislation in the House.
