Hi Evan,

I am reaching out to ask if Representative Pingree will cosponsor the Disability Integration Act again. The DIA was reintroduced last week as HR. 555 (and in the Senate it was introduced by Minority Leader Schumer as S. 117). The bill is both bicameral and bipartisan, and already has 52 cosponsors in the House. Last session Rep. Pingree cosponsored the bill, then known as HR 2472. The bill is substantially the same with minor technical edits which were suggested by AARP.

To cosponsor the bill, please contact Amy Bos at Congressman Sensenbrenner???s office.

Will Representative Pingree cosponsor DIA?

Thanks,

Stephanie Woodward, J.D.
Co-chair of the Disability Integration Act Workgroup

On December 21, Sophie Poost sent the following email to Evan Johnston and received no response:

Dear Evan,
I am writing on behalf of the Disability Community to thank Representative Pingree for their sponsorship of the Disability Integration Act in the last Congress. We will be holding an event in the U.S. Capitol on January 15th to celebrate the bill???s reintroduction. We would like to announce the Representative as an original cosponsor of the bill at the event. Would you please confirm the Representative???s intention to be an original cosponsor on the legislation? We would be grateful for their leadership in helping ensure that all disabled Americans have the right to live in freedom. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sophie Poost
